To the extreme southwest of Cuenca, in the heart of La Mancha, we find this village. Here, there is a concentration of noble houses with grand entryways, iron window grills and coats-of-arms. The most unique element in Mota del Cuervo, however, is the line of windmills perched on the hill above town. Today, there are seven. Only one of these is truly authentic, the others having been constructed in modern times, using traditional methods, and for cultural and artistic reasons. In Mota del Cuervo, the tradition of pottery continues in force, and it is also possible to visit the modern and prestigious local wine cellars. On the first and third Sunday of August, the festival of Nuestra Señora de la Antigua de Manjavacas is held, a celebration that has been declared of Interest to Tourists.
