This town has been declared of historical-artistic interest and is home to a historic district that boasts the remains of an Arab wall, many of its doors, a castle and narrow streets through which one can stroll and take in the charm of the area. Cañete celebrates its festival, La Alvarada, the first week of August. And also, from the 7th to the 12th of september, it is celebrated the local celebration for the Virgin of the zarza.
